Please join us in Lansing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 21 for College Access Advocacy Day: Building on Momentum, MCAN’s sixth annual advocacy event.

The gathering is a collaboration among MCAN, Michigan Association for College Admission Counseling, Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and Michigan Promise Zones Association.

Participants will convene, meet with legislators and policymakers, and rally around postsecondary access and attainment. Their efforts will demonstrate support for Sixty by 30 and building a brighter future for Michigan students.

College Access Advocacy Day is open to anyone who has a passion for college access and postsecondary attainment. In the past, participants have included school counselors, Local College Access Network coordinators and team members, higher education professionals, community-based organization leaders and staff, philanthropic leaders, and more. All are welcome to attend, and there is no cost to participate. No previous advocacy knowledge or skill set is required. A College Access Advocacy Day training webinar will be offered before the event.

The deadline to RSVP is March 13. If you have any questions, please contact Janaya Royal, MCAN chief of staff.

Due to the political nature of this event, AmeriCorps members are asked to refrain from participating. If members have questions, they should speak to their site supervisor or program manager.
